And the Adventure Begins!

Hello blogger world, nice to see you after all these weeks off :)

I almost don't know where to begin. I feel like so much has happened, there is so much I have to share, and then, on the horizon, Thanksgiving and Christmas! Where to start?
Quid and I were talking about this today and the conclusion she helped me come to was to start with the honeymoon: it's fresh on the brain, I have loads of pics to illustrate, and I'm still awaiting the pro pics from the wedding so that will have to wait until I have pics to post! Who wants to read a blog story with no pics?!? Not me and I'm certain not you either. Right B? ;)
It is very difficult to pare down the 1779 pictures that we have from our honeymoon into a couple blog posts. I know it's overkill to post them all, but how do I choose the best that will draw a complete picture of our trip? Oh the dilemmas in life...haha.
New Zealand is beautiful. I don't think even these pics do it justice. There were many, many times throughout our trip where Blane and I would look at eachother and go, "I wish I could capture what my eyes are seeing with a picture but I can't!"or "This looks fake it's so pretty!" The country is so green and so clean too-we hardly saw a piece of stray trash or "rubbish" our entire time there! Our other takeaways are that the people are extremely friendly, there are sheep and cows galore and the food is out-of-this-world amazing. We ate like kings!
I'm going to start with a post on Auckland, our first stop. But before we go there, let's begin with the airport in L.A.! We left on a Friday night and our adventure began even before we had our tickets in-hand. We had Blane's parents drop us off at the International terminal at LAX thinking that our flight would depart from there. When we walked in with all of our luggage, we were dismayed to find that Air New Zealand actually departs out of Terminal 2, so we trekked it three terminals over with all of our gear until we found it! Sweaty already and only 15 minutes in. Here we go! Haha

Just a sampling of our Air New Zealand flight. I have only good things to say about this airline. Even coach was nice and roomy-the roomiest of any coach seats I've been in while traveling internationally. Top, clockwise: my touchscreen tv console, free earplugs, arriving in Auckland, and our inflight meal-chicken, potatoes, cheese and Haagan Daaz chocolate ice cream!
View from my plane window. Good Morning Auckland!
My husband loves him some McDonald's breakfast. So the first thing he did when we arrived was make our first New Zealand purchase: Micky D's hash browns and breakfast sandwich, no egg. It was 6am local time after all and we had set our watches at take-off to New Zealand time, so we were about ready for some breakfast!

Next stop: Greetings City of Auckland!

Cheers,
Aim
