Toes Anonymous

Hi, my name is Cole and I'm obsessed with...feet. Actually, TOES to be exact and we've found that he doesn't discriminate-painted or not, light, dark, wiggly or still, he loves them all! In this pic he's even holding his own toes while zoning out at Grace's. What can I say-the kid has focus!

Joe Cool

Cole got to hang out with these coolios last weekend. I love that his little toes are sticking out at the bottom of this pic :).

This weekend Blane and I are off to our annual Youth Midwinter Retreat. Pray for all of us up there-that God would move and that we would all be responsive to His spirit!

And would you say an extra little prayer for this mama who is leaving her kiddo for the first time? I know it will be way harder for me (and Blane :) than it will be for him. He's going to be spoiled silly with his grandparents who can't WAIT to have him!

God Bless you and your weekend!

Some Highlights

Happy Friday all. This week has been a busy one...
Some highlights for me were our monthly HS bible study, working on our upcoming Midwinter retreat with one of my former youthers now turned staffer, and being able to see some of my youth play in their high school basketball games (Maya for MVP!)

Here's Cole showing you finger-sucking at its finest :).
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Super Bowl for Dummies

Hi there,
So the Super Bowl is this weekend and I'm actually quite excited about it. Blane and I have been watching a lot of football for some reason this season and I've found that I really enjoy it! Who knew?

I read an article online today and it made me laugh...it also educated me on all I need to know about this year's big game so at least I can sound like I know what I'm talking about come Sunday ;). If you're interested, you can read the article here. It's worth the read so you won't feel stupid when everyone else is talking football and you have no clue what the heck a "HarBowl" is. Just read the article-it'll fill ya in. ;)

Can't decide who I'm rooting for...the scandal-teased veteran or the backup-now-starter-qb? Eh-let's be honest, I'm really rooting for Beyonce+her halftime show! Woot woot! :D

Have a happy weekend all!

Akemashite Omedetoo!

Happy New Year!

My stint as a stay at home Mom recently came to an end and I've been busy trying to juggle going back to work hence the lack of posts around here!

How was the end of your 2012? Ours was full of family, plenty of celebrations and Cole's first Christmas and New Years. So much goodness in the month of December for us :D. I'd love to share some pics-maybe once I get around to editing the 800+ we have from those few weeks hah!

"Create in me a pure heart oh God that I might serve You."

This is my own personal prayer for 2013. May it be yours as well!
Here's to all that the new year has in store for both you and me. God is with us!

Friday, Friday...it's the Friday before Christmas!!!

Oooh the smell of Christmas is in the air! How are all of you doing with your shopping and wrapping and tree decorating? Last night I was up way past my usual bedtime wrapping gifts as the little one and his Dad were snoring away ;). Such fun!

This weekend is a full one for us. I'm looking forward to spending too much time with family (is there even such a thing?), to celebrating my Mom's birthday, for Christmas Sunday service and our annual family get together on my Dad's side. It's jam-packed with all of the best things this weekend! I love it. And Mr. Chubs here is going along for the ride!

"And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare His ways; to give to His people the knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins, because of the tender mercy of our God, with which the Sunrise from on high will visit us, to shine upon those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."
Luke 1:76-79

Can you imagine the greatness of this blessing that was given to John the Baptist? He was born to Mary's cousin Elizabeth shortly before Jesus' birth. I was reading this passage today and my heart was reminded, yet again, that this is our true gift this Christmas...to go and share Jesus with this hurting world. Seems especially poignant now, as we remember the horrific events in Newtown a week ago today, God rest their precious souls.

I hope you have a rich Christmas weekend full of everything good in this world. Remember for Whom we are living and to Whom we serve. God Bless you!
